What Does The Following Ultrasonography Of The Kidney Suggest?

Female age 53 The right kidney appears marginally small in size and demonstrates raised parenchymal echo texture. The corticomedullary differentiation is lost. The left kidney appears normal in size and shape and demonstrates raised parenchymal echotexture.The corticomedullary differentiation is sub-optimal. Bilateral medial renal disease right left

Hello,

You may be suffering from chronic kidney disease. Which is affecting the right more than left?

It may be due to many causes like hypertension or diabetes or systemic lupus erythematosus or connective tissue disorders or renal artery problems or renal parenchymal diseases etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

You have to be evaluated completely. Get it done blood urea serum creatinine, serum electrolytes, renal doppler, blood sugar, ANA, anti D's DNA, CRP, ESR, anti-CCP etc.

So please consult your nephrologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
