What Does The Following Ultrasound Report Indicate?
I had an ultrasound and the impression was as follows: 1. Normal size liver with diffusely coarsened echotexture. A non specific finding correlate with liver function tests. 2. Cholelithiasis without associated sign of cholecystitis 3. simple left renal cyst as well as a subcentimeter lefyf renal cyst with layering milk of calcium
Your ultrasound report in simple language is explained below.
1. Normal size liver with diffusely coarsened echotexture. A non specific finding correlate with liver function tests. This indicates a slightly abnormal appearance of liver. If youhave regular alcohol intake then this may be a n effect of alcohol liver disease. If not this can be due to infective condition of liver like hepatitis. Further blood tests are needed to confirm
2. Cholelithiasis without associated sign of cholecystitis This indicates presence of stone in the gall bladder. Number, size and location of stones is important to say if this needs surgery or can be treated with medicines and diet modification.
3. simple left renal cyst as well as a subcentimeter lefyf renal cyst with layering milk of calcium These are benign findings and are not of much significance from treatment point of view.
coarse echotexture of liver is common in alcoholic, hemaochromatosis so u need to rule out those conditions Stones in GB means -cholelithiasis, with no inflammations. Cysts in kidney - normal findings in old age and few of the cyst show calcfications.
