What Does The Following Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Hello Doctor,. My wife is pregnant and at 23rd week of her pregnancy. Fetal 3d anomalies performed at 22nd week. The findings are:_ intrauterine pregnancy of 22week 3 days with echogenic focus LV , fullness of left pelvicalyceal system and normal blood flow. Further investigation to exclude down s syndrome. My question is do we need to worry about this.?. We are very tensed after our gynaecologist told us to wait for further investigation for down syndrome. The double marker was normL at the week of 10. Please suggest what should be done ?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,

I do not think being tense or worried is answer at this time. It is always better to wait for confirmatory reports before guessing anything like adverse outcome.

There is good chance that down syndrome may not be there or of very mild nature.

In my opinion you need to manage your stress and cooperate with your doctor for further investigation.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
