I m 7 weeks pregnant. The ultrasound reported to OG that I have bulky uterus with well defined gestational sac but no fetal pole is not detected now. In remark shows, NORMAL EARLY PREGNANT .And USG doctor said don t worry and some people can test 8-9weeks for fetal pole s heart beat. But my OG said, it s worried case and actually must see fetal pole this time. After next 2 weeks, I need to USG again. I have no bleeding and no pain at all. What will happen to me?
Hello and welcome to HCM, At 7 weeks of pregnancy, fetal pole should be visible. A bulky uterus on ultrasound, well defined gestational sac and absence of pain or bleeding rules out missed or threatened abortion. However, you can wait for another 2-3 weeks for repeat ultrasound to look for the fetal pole. If the fetal pole is again not visible after few weeks, possibility of blighted ovum has to be kept. Blighted ovum is non-viable and has that pregnancy has to be terminated. But wait for 2-3 weeks and it is possible that the fetal pole may be visible.
