What Does The Following Ultrasound Report Suggest?
Hi I had a ultrasound test yesterday the report says : Liver normal in siz and show homogeneous increased echotexture. No evidence of mass lesion. Normal IHBR, and impression: fatty liver grade 3, also i am digonised with 6mm kidney stone in my right kidney, no pain or any symptoms, i am vegetarian, self cooking most of the time, i follow diets very often and i take hypertension table, kindly advice.
Accumulation of fat in the liver Or Fatty liver (the simple accumulation of triglyceride within hepatocytes) gives coarse echotexture of the Liver on ultrasound and homogenous increased echotexture indicates uniform accumulation throughout the liver.
Grade 1 is mild steatosis(accumulation of fat); Grade 2 is moderate steatosis, and Grade 3 shows all the features of grade 2 plus the additional requirement of portal inflammation.
6 mm kidney stone may not be in the pelvicalyceal system and hence not causing any pain.
Diet & Exercise, Lifestyle changes & dietary modification & avoidance of alcohol are the mainstays of Fatty liver treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Tushar Kanti Biswas, Internal Medicine Specialist
