What Does The Lump In The Scrotum Of A 20-year-old Indicate?

My son is 20 years old and just informed me last night that he has a lump the size of a golf ball in his scrotum. He says it s not painful, but has noticed the lump since a month ago. He says it feels like worms. What I ve read online, says that what he feels could be veins? I have an appointment scheduled for Friday with a Urologist, but I m a nervous wreck and so is he. He is scared that it s testicular cancer.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello thank you for writing us here.
it's less likely to be cancer.
it could possibly be parasitic infestation. The parasite usually resides in the lymphatics and block the normal flow resulting in swelling of scrotum and lower limb. he should be examined properly and be put on proper medications.

best regards,
Dr Gunjan
