What Does The Minimal Fibrotic Changes In Upper Lobes Indicate In X Ray?
Hi I tested positive for tuberculin skin test. I have always been asymptomatic. I am a health care worker. My chest xray shows minimal fibrotic changes in both upper lobes. The lungs are otherwise clear. Costophrenic angles are sharp. Dextral scoliosis of thoracic spine. Impression: Mild fibrotic changes in both upper lobes. No acute pulmonary disease. Do I need to have treatement for latent TB? I have not been referred for followup or anything!
Your report suggests minimal fibrotic changes in both upper lobes. It may be sequel of past infection . Minimal fibrosis don't require any medicines because it doesn't compromise pulmonary functions. Other areas of lungs are normal. There is dextral scoliosis of thoracic spine means spine is deviated from mid line towards right side. Both CP angles are clear. However you need clinical correlation.
Hope I have answered your question. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
