What Does The Pap Smear Test With Moderate Cellularity Indicate?
Hello Doctor, I had PAP SMEAR test last week and the results are as follows: Microscopy: Smear is satisfactory for evolution and show moderate cellularity. Smears show superficial and intermediate squamous epithelial cells, clusters of columnar cells against background of RBC s, polymorphs and coccobacillary flora. Impression: Cytological fetures are suggestive of Benign Cellular Changes of Infection. What it indicates..??
Hi! Welcome to HCM! Your pap smear result is negative for any premalignant lesion, findings which are present are not related to the risk of cancer .The bacterial flora and polymorphs indicate infection.Benign Cellular Changes, occur as a response to injury or inflammation. You can get a vaginal swab culture senstivity done and a course of antibiotics will be required. Take care!
