What Does The Presence Of Blood In Urine And Stool Signify?
I had seen blood in my urine months ago., My urologist performed a procedure to see if there was any blockage . there was none. He was very clear NO BLOCKAGE , NO CANCER. however, tonight I saw blood again in my stool .. What are some of the common reasons for this Thanks
Blood in urine occurs in various conditions as follows:
1) Urinary stone 2) Acute kidney injury 3) Urinary bladder injury etc.
But as mentioned by you, urological examination came out clear.so no need to worry. Now your main complaint is blood in stool. The following are very common conditions that give rise to blood in stools 1) Hemorrhoids or piles 2) Anal fissure 3) Anal fistula 4) Inflammatory bowel disease 5) Ulcerative colitis 6) Colon cancer
In your case, you have not mentioned about any pain. If pain is present, think about anal fissure or fistula. In painless bleeding, other conditions are to be ruled out. Anyway your anal region is to be examined by a surgeon and stool is to be sent for examination if necessary. Kindly consult a general surgeon for a precise diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
