What Does The Prognosis For Survival With This Heart Functioning Rate Indicate?
My dad had a heart attack at 40 triple bypass 5 years later and a pacemaker put in....10 years later they put in a defibrillator pacemaker...7 years ago he had one episode oh earn failure and now 2 weeks ago he had another. They say a normal heart is functioning at 55% and he has 10-15. What is the prognosis and how much time does he have?
hi If ejection fraction is 10-15 as you probably mean, this is now an indication to contact an cardiac surgeon- in all probability he may suggest a heart transplant if general physique allows. But before this , evaluation of bypassed grafts is necessary for any new blockade and status of pacemaker function.Ct angio/angio and echo also needed Regards
