What Does The Report Say?

Hi Doctor, I recently got my Renal Profile done and I have a few deviations from the reference range like Pus Cells 8-10 (ref.: 0-5/hpf), Red Blood Cells (10-15) (ref.:0-5/hpf), Epithelial Cells 15-20 (ref.: 0-5/hpf) and Hyline Casts Absent (ref.: 0-5/hpf).

What does this mean?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

You are suffering from urinary tract infection(UTI).
This is indicated by presence of RBC, pus cells and epithelial cells in urine.
You need few more investigations like routine hemogram,Random blood sugar,serum urea & creatinine,Urine culture and sensitivity and Ultrasound of abdomen. Further investigations can be done if needed.
Ultrasound of abdomen can detect other associated pathology.
At present you need proper antibiotics after culture and sensitivity report.
