My son who is 14 months old has a fever (39deg) and has diarrhea. We took a stool sample and want to know your opinion about his Fecalysis. Results show RBC - 8-12/hpf. WBC - 10-15/hpf. E.histolytica cyst 1-3/hpf. And trophozoites 0-1/hpf. What is your opinion about this analysis? Thank you.

HI
Thanks for posting your query .
Your son's stool stool report is suggestive of E.histolytica infestation . It is a parasite which infests the stomach . Because of that he is having mild trauma to his gut with slight bleeding in gut as indicated by RBC in stools.
He needs to be started on Anti-parasite medications for cure . Consult your pediatrician and get him treated .
Any clarifications feel free to ask . Happy to answer. Regards.
