What Does The Tube-like Lump By The Hip Bone Indicate?
For the past several months I have been able to feel all tubular like lump next to my left hip bone. I think it may be a part of my intestine as I am thin and don t have much fat and muscle to push through to feel it. It is slightly firm and moves under my fingers a bit. I have normal bowel movements, am a female, 18 years old, and am on a vegetarian diet. The tubular lump doesn t seem to change much in size, however I don t feel for it after bowel movements. Am I feeling a part of my intestines or is this cause for concern. Thank you.
Very likely, by what you explain, you are feeling a part of your intestine. The last part of the bowel serves as a reservoir and may be full and easily felt like a tube in the left lower abdomen, especially in thin patients.
If you notice this tube even after having a bowel movement or if it is increasing in size or causing you any discomfort, it may be best to see your doctor and have it checked.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
