What Does The Ultrasonography Of A 46-year-old Indicate?
My mother s age is 46. Her usg shows endometrial thickness 12mm midline echo not shifted diffuse adenomyosis with cervicitis. Small fibroid myoma 17*15mm. Uterus 101*57*47mm. Previously she had menorhegia, last few months irregular bleeding but amount is relatively decreased.
Hello dear . Your mom has a condition called adenomyosis. It is a condition mostly seen in middle aged women, where the inner lining of the uterus called endometrium breaks through the uterine wall and invades the muscle layer of uterus. This results in irregular periods and painful periods. Main treatment includes pain killers and hormonal therapy where hormonal tablets and injections will be given. If it is not subsiding, then a surgery called uterine ablation where, through a transl vaginal probe the adenomyosis tissue is burnt and removed. Kindly consult the gynaecologist. Hope I have answered your question. Feel free to contact in case of any queries. With regards Dr Sanjay Kini
