What Does The Ultrasound Report Indicate?

My ultrasound report taken on 24/1/15 reads: GB- Gall bladder is grossly distended. There are multiple non mobile calculus measuring 15.0 mm in the neck of gall bladder. Gall bladder wall is diffusely thickened and measures 5.2 mm. There is minimal pericholecystic fluid. Surgeon advised to go for a laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery. I am aged 40. Is there any other option?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your problem.
As per the ultrasound report given in your question, I am of the opinion that you are having gall stones with inflammation of the the gall bladder.
Laparascopic removal of gall bladder is the treatment of choice, as it is safe, does not need to open the abdomen with less complications.

I think you must follow the advice given by your surgeon.
Best of your health.
