What Does The Urine Test Indicate Regarding Pregnancy?

Hello Doc! I am 35 y/o female. I am 5 feet and 2 inches in height. I weigh around 30 lbs. Currently 17 weeks pregnant. I had a urine culture done a month ago, the result was Hafnia Alvei 120,000 colonies per ml of urine. How shall we treat this? I am scared of the effects on my baby. It is safe to breastfeed if I have this after giving birth? Thank you.

I have read your question and have understood it.

It reveals the organisms which have caused urinary infection in you.

Usually in this test, sensitivity also is performed which reveals to which antibiotics the causative organisms are sensitive. Accordingly the antibiotics are chosen.

Accordingly your report also should contain this information. If it does not, please ask the pathologist to perform the sensitivity test on your urine and your doctor will prescribe you medicines accordingly.

I hope you got the answer.
