I started exercising few days ago and after 2- 3 days I started getting pitting edema in my feet and legs. My physician asked me to get routine urine exam. It shows 4+ g/dl of protein and 2-3 RBC /HPF. What is most accurate differential diagnosis here?

Proteinuria after exercise is a physiological, but having 4+ g/dl is heavy proteinuria. Which type of exercise you are doing is important to know. after heavy exercise this may happen. As you have started exercise recently. You should start with mild exercise first gradually shift to heavy exercise by taking a time of approximately 3-4 month. this will gradually adapt your kidney function to handle the protein that right now is excreting.
