What Does The X Ray Regarding The Lung Indicate?

Hi Dr s i would like to ask about my X-Ray result and it says there is Reticular nodular hazy densities. And the conclusion says Inflamatory process, right upper lung fields. Suggest follow clinical correlation to rule out ptb. What is this mean? Do i need to do sputum test?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should definitely get done sputum examination for AFB to rule out pulmonary Tuberculosis.
Reticular nodular hazzy lesionare suggestive of active infection. And TB bacilli hasgreat affinity to the upper zone because oxygen tesionin upper zones are highest. So TB Bacilli can grow easily. So pulmonary TB lesions are most commonly seen inupper lobe.
Because of this fact, any upperlobe infective lesionshould be ruledout for tuberculosis. So sputum examination should be your next investigation to rule out PTB.
