What Does This BP Level Indicate?
My grandfather was just released from the hospital 2 days ago for a suspected stroke. They were unable to find anything wrong other than high blood sugar. He was admitted because he was awake but unresponsive and was transported by squad. Tonight he is having trouble staying awake and hus blood pressure is 103/39 when it usually runs 110/70. He takes Metropolol 25 MG every evening. Should we be concerned about this reading.

I have gone through your query and being your physcian i completely understand your health concerns.
for how long she is taking METOPROLOL? what is her pulse rate?
In my opinion the BP reading is low , she has to be looked for it. is there any history of skipped meals? i need to see her ECG and echo too.
you need to get the record of her BP so that it would be easy for us to comment, take atleast three reading per day.
meanwhile stay calm and use boiled eggs and lemonade with little salt , it will help her raise her blood pressure , and continue with your medications.
