Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Blood pressure 138/72 pulse 82. Earlier12:45,it was 138/77. I had sharp stabbing pain in left shoulder penetrated into neck, then pain felt it was behind my breast area, skin became clamy,at present time pain is dull. I am a diabetic and have a history of high blood pressure. Please advise......
These blood pressure would not cause any complications in the short term (no heart attack or stroke). Because the blood pressure goal for a diabetic is less than 130/80, these readings can be associated with long term complications. You may need to make an appointment to see your doctor so that your blood pressure control can be improved.
In terms of the pain, because of the diabetes and possible history of heart disease, it would be best to have it assessed to rule out more serious causes.
Welcome to hcm... The blood pressure is to the higher side of normal and nothing much to worry about. But since you have pain behind your breast and shoulder and being both diabetic and hypertensive , I suggest you to go to the nearest hospital to take an ECG to rule out any problems with the heart.
