What Does This CAT Scan Result For Frequent Diarrhea Indicate?

I m 58 w/m and had emergency appendectomy on May19. Since then I have had diarrhoea constantly. They checked for a staff infection with negative results. Then this Tuesday, my stomach began hurting bad so I went to the ER. They did a Cat Scan and said the bowels were inflamed with fluid both inside and out of the lining. and my stomach was retaining fluids. Now all my diarrhoea is green. I m drinking gatorade, and water and some hot tea and eating bland foods....is this normal? YYYY@YYYY

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

This situation could be related to persistent inflammation or infection in the guts, after surgery. I recommend taking an antibiotic and a probiotic. It could be resistant gut infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
