Respected Sir, The results of ct scan results are shown below Polypoldal mucosal thickening in bilateral maxillary, mildy in ethmoidal and sphenoidal sinusOsteomeatal complex blocked right side Pls advice if medication is enough or surgery required Thanks Ashok
You seem to be having infection in almost all the paranasal sinuses. Normally medical treatment is advised at least 2-3 times( in case relief is not obtained initially ) and mostly sinusitis resolves by medical treatment.
But in case it progresses to recurrent sinusitis/chronic sinusitis or large polyps are present in the sinuses then a relatively modern procedure called FESS i.e Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery which is a minimally invasive surgery where a small fibreoptic endoscope is used to restore sinus ventilation and relieve blockages is done. But this is reserved for patients where medical treatment has failed. An ENT surgeon would be the best judge to decide on whether surgical intervention is required. Hope I have answered your query
