What Does This CT Scan Report For Chest Pain Indicate?
So I had a CT for chest pain and on it it states that i have a redemonstrated in the extreme superior aspect left lower lobe posteriorlty along the plane of the major fissure is a 12 to 13 mm ovoid nodule with some eccentric incomplete calcification. the calcification having developed since prior study the nodule is otherwise unchanged back to 2010. i am a current smoker and the dr said it is probably Benign should i be worried due to the eccentric calcification?
As per your description, if calcification is present it may become malignant any time. Second thing, stop smoking as early as possible because it's killing you silently. And if it's in benign stage then calcification presence indicates that it can be converting to metastatic anytime.
So, of course, you should be cautious and have regular follow up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
