Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A friend of mine fell from a height of like 4 feet while doing pull ups and hit her head, She went unconcious immediately and after trying to wake her up, she reacted like epilepsy and foam like substance was coming out of her mouth, after sprinkling some water and rubbing ice on the injured area she became concious a little, we went to the doctor and he suggested CT Scan and the report was: No significant abnormality detected in brain. Scalp haematoma in right parietal region. Chronic left maxillary & bilateral ethmoidal sinusitis. I just wannna know if she is actually okay and this wont affect her in future. Please help me
Hi Thankful for consulting HCM. That's a good news that she didn't get any fracture of the skull or any focal neurological deficit, etc. There is a scalp hematoma which is basically a blood collection & needs to be drained under local anesthesia. Consult a neurosurgeon for its management. Report also showed she has chronic left maxillary & bilateral ethmoidal sinusitis for which she needs to consult ENT specialist. Since you haven't mentioned any symptom of it, I cannot prescribe her any medicine. Take care
