Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a cat scan done and was told I have 4 centimeters of fluid in my posterior culdasac and my symptoms are just right lower back pain, my periods are normal. I had an ultrasound done just waiting to follow up with MD. What could this be? I m on birth control so my Md said it couldn t be a cyst.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
Certain amount of fluids in Cul de sac is normal in females but 4cm may be bit too high and it may indicate certain ovarian cysts or endometriosis. However, it may also be present without underlying disease. If you have symptoms you should do CT scan and laparoscopy.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
