Hi there I m 53 I ve smoked for over 30 , I ve just had a ct scan done and has come up with a couple of things could you please give me your advise on these there is mild coronary atery calcification involving the LAD , mild centrilobular emphysema I ll defined centrilobular grounded glass opacities are noted with upper zone predominance .Withinthe left upper lobe a 4 mm soft tissue nodules noted.Towardsthe left lung base a small sub pleural 3 mm opacity is noted. A second small 2 mm subpleural opacity is noted moresuperiorlywithinthe left lower lobe . Within the right lower lobe a 3 mm opacity is noted , a second subpleural 3 mm opacity is noted right lower lobe. The pleural surfaces appear normal, the non-contrast upper abdomen is unremarkable
"mild coronary atery calcification involving the LAD" you should do a stress test ECG to check for coronary deseas. "mild centrilobular emphysema" in a 30 years old fumator person is "normal". This bilateral nodular opacities could be something of no importance (may be some previous deseas that has left some scars) but in any case you have to follow them up. After 3-6 months you have to repeat the CT scan.
