Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
impression: no MR evidence for acute infarction, hemorrhage or mass effect. a couple non specific subtle foci of white matter signal change within the brain which are non specific. Differential includes chronic headaches, demyelination, or small vessel change trace bilateral mastoid airspace disease, a non specific finding Can you please tell me what this means?
As the doctor must have noticed some of the clinical symptoms which might be related to nervous system dysfunction and a CT was advised.
As the CT was performed which shows there is no evidence of acute infarction means there is no blood clotting which is new. The CT is showing some of the changes in the white matter and this are not due to any kind of infarction, so we need to correlate this with the clinical symptoms. The neurones have myelin sheath, since there is some pathology in the brain there is demyelination of the myelin sheath of the neurone and so the symptoms.
Post comparing the CT scan with the clinical symptoms a clinical diagnosis will be made so that the treatment can be initiated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
