Hello,
As per my clinical experience, the CT brain indicates
gliosis with ex vacuo dilation of lateral ventricle which suggests increase in CSF
drainage areas as there is compensatory loss of brain parenchymal tissue. There can be various possible symptoms of the same as:
- Memory issues
- Focal neurologic signs and symptoms
- Sensory involvement when particular sensory pathway are involved
- Motor symptoms of hypo or hyper reflexia, tone disturbances
- Altered gait via CSF pressure changes
- Loss of bowel or bladder control in some cases
- Lethargy
- Somnolescence
- Seizures or convulsions
- Others
The therapy depends upon the underlying cause after thorough physical and neurologic examination and co relation of supportive data facts.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
