So I am a 60 year otherwise healthy, non overweight, non smoke, non drink, medium height, active male who has heart disease in family. An EKG last week, (from experiencing chest pain), showed a left atrial enlargement, and borderline left axis deviation? If the left atrial is where the oxygen rich blood comes from the lungs, what would be your diagnosis or at least thoughts?
HI DEAR, I UNDERSTOOD YOUR PROBLEM, ECG SHOWS LEFT ATRIAL ENLARGEMENT ie:it is due to obstruction of left atrium, which can be due mitral valve (a door btw left atrium and left ventricle)stenosis. mitral regurgitation(leak of blood back into left atrium) or anything obstruction to left atrium.
so get echo done. meet cardiologist for further treatment . thank you.
