What Does This GI Endoscopy For Persistent Pain In Middle Of Chest Indicate?
hi Doctor, I have been having pain after swollowing just slightly to the left of my sternum or mid chest. sometimes feel like it s under my breast bone and sometimes my breast or chest muscle, but pain is always consistent to one area. It hurts when i swollow certain types of food, and lately there is like a aching type pain now just even at rest . I did upper G.I. endoscopy only showed mild erythemia and signs of bile, i have no gall bladder, advil dont seem to be helping, i take nexium no relief, i am now on wellchol for about 5days but i still have the same issue. It s getting a bit depressing. Dont know what else to do.
* The persistent pain in middle of the chest with Endoscopy indicative of erythema and bile indicates reflux of bile from 1st part of duodenum most likely due to incompetent gastro duodenal junction.
* There can be intramural problems or external compression by tumor or else.
* In my clinic, I do recommend a study of thin barium of upper GI tract for further guidelines accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
