What Does This HRCT Test Report Indicate?

Hi I have done my HRCT chest and the report says.. Impression : Opacities in bilateral lung upper lobs,right lower lobe - features are likely Tuberculosis ( to correlate sputum AFB) And my sputum test is negative. Wt would be the further treatment for this. Thanks in advance.

it shows that your lungs are infected with tuberculosis (which usually infects the upper zones as in your case). the combination of pus and dead cells have form the opacities mentioned in the report. now since you are saying that the sputum for AFB is negative, the lung opacities in your case may also represent old healed TB or other infiltrative lung disease. if you still want to rule out active TB, i suggest you go for PCR TB only if you have symptoms like fever, cough with sputum, night sweats etc.
