What Does This HSG Test Report Specify?

i am 34 years old and ttc for over 5years. I did hsg and laparoscopy and was diagnosed to have bilateral tubal blockage, bulky and capacious uterus with an extrinsic impression in the fundal region of the uterus. I need clear explanation about the result and solutions to the problem. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The following entities can be inferred based on the HSG and laproscopic report you have furnished:
1. Bilateral tubal blockage means that your Fallopian tubes are blocked on both sides. Even though ovulation occurs normally, the chances of fertilization is not possible as the sperms of your partner cannot enter the Fallopian tubes to meet and attach to the ovum. Hence, the chances for you to conceive naturally is not possible at this stage.
2. Uterus is bulky may be due to presence of some lesion towards the upper portion (fundus). It needs to be evaluated to see if would cause any problems if conceived by assisted reproductive technique like Invitro fertilization (IVF). In case things are fine, it is advisable for you to go for IVF, if you are planning to conceive.
Kindly consult Infertility specialist in this regard for proper advise and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
