General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The following conclusions can be drawn from the LFT report you have posted.
1. Serum Bilirubin - Total and Direct is high, indicating that Conjugated Bilirubin is higher than Unconjugated Bilirubin.
2. Total Protein and Albumin levels are normal, but towards the lower reference range.
3. A/G ratio is alright.
4. Enzymes SGOT (AST), SGPT (ALT) and Alkaline Phosphatase is increased.
This picture indicates that you could be suffering from obstructive jaundice.
You need to get an ultrasound abdomen done to know where and what could be the obstruction.
Commonly such obstruction is caused by gall stones. In case it is confirmed that it is due to gall stones, you need to undergo its removal by means of laproscopic surgery.
Kindly consult Surgeon in this regard for clinical examination and appropriate diagnosis, so that proper treatment can be planned at the earliest.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
