What Does This LFT Report Indicate?

Friend has Billirubin result of 5.7, AST 1,571, and ALT result of 1,862. Pancreatic enzymes normal. GGT is 600. She had a CT Scan this morning. Her eyes have been yellow for 7 days now but are darker today. She is at work nauseous and exhausted. I am very worried and have asked her to call her Doctor immediately as he could pull up the CT. IS THIS URGENT AND SHOULD SHE GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

A detailed evaluation is required to find out the exact cause. The given lab report is consistent with obstructive jaundice.

There might be some form of obstruction somewhere in your biliary tract. Consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated.

You can opt for a CT scan to get a better clinical picture. wishing all the best.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
