What Does This LFT Report Indicate?

Hello doctor, I was suffering from jaundice from past 2 months, in August it was diagnosed. After that I was on medicines, I got my LFT test today. My bilirubin is 0.90 , Direct is .046,sgpt is 20, Sgot is 40. Everything is pretty well. I want to know from when can I start having non-veg and other highly protein diet. Thank you

Hello,
Based on your quoted values your liver enzymes are well with the normal range. Although I can see a very minute elevation in direct bilirubin level.
Unless you don't have any significant condition with your Stomach or intestine you can very slowly start including meat to your diet.
Remember to start with mild proteins like egg white, small quantities of boiled chicken.
If you find any discomfort after consuming meat then you might have to cut that particular product out and wait for a couple of days before you take your next meat dish.
As I'm unaware about the cause for your jaundice this is a general idea of how to start your meat diet.
