What Does This LFT Report Indicate?

Hello sir/madam. I am suffering from jaundice right now. I came to know about it 12 days back. I was hospitalised for 9 days. On the day of discharge my bilirubin level was 5.1 and my (SGOT,SGPT) was 136 and 456 respectively. Now it s been 12 days that i am suffering from jaundice. I wanted to ask that can i smoke hash or cigerattes during jaundice or not? If not, how much time do i have to wait? Also can i drink alcohol?

Hi,

Thank you for your concern. LFT mean s Liver Function Tests, which checks the liver which when not well present with yellowness of the eye - called jaundice. This indicates liver damage. Liver damage can be caused by drugs, infections mainly viral or alcohol. You need to give time and do not drink alcohol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
