had an MRI done yesterday don t see my doc til next Thursday , MRI results via mychart show I have a 12mm leftsided synovial cyst with canal abutment and canal stenosis, how serious is this result? I do know the seriousness of the pain and difficulty walking etc is
Hello, For the most part synovial cysts are not dangerous, but if they are so large that they are compressing the spinal cord then they can cause problems. Canal stenosis means that the canal that the spinal cord passes through. This can cause spinal cord compression and nerve pain. If the cyst is the cause of the stenosis then removing it may help ease the pain. Regards
