What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

I just found out with a MRI that I have focal central herniation at L4-5 with impingement upon the thecal sac and left nerve root. In addition, there are hypertrophic change of the facet joints and ligamentous structures and mild spinal stenosis if felt to be present at this level. Do you have any suggestions of treatment.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It simply means that there is a displaced disc in your lower spine which is causing compression of nerve. Please get physiotherapy, give hot fomentation, take over the counter painkillers.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
