HI DOCTOR MY WIFE WITH IMMENSE HEAD ACH CONSULTED NEUROLOGIST IN INDIA MANGALORE THE MRI FOR BRAIN PLAIN NOTED AS PARTIAL EMPTY SELLA AND TORTOUS BILATERAL OPTIC NERVES WITH PROMINENT BILATERAL MECKEL CAVE. TO RULE OUT BENIGN INTERACRANIAL HYPERTENSION THEY ARE RECOMMENED TO DO LUMBAR PUNCTURE TO ANALYSIS CSF. the MRI suggests that there are some abnormalities and there is a possibility of her having intracranial hypertension, also her empty sella also needs evaluation,
a lumber tap with analysis of csf will help , please do not be apprehensive the procedure is not a very major one and it is quite safe, all precautions that needed to be taken will be taken by the doctors treating and looking after her
