Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Recent mri shows a 1.8 x1.8x1.8 cm well circumcised T2 hyper intense lesion demonstrating enhancement post contract images initially appearing as thickened septal enhancement progressing to near complete enhancement in the inter polar region of right kidney. Conclusion: 1.8 cm enhancing partially exophytic right renal mass in the posterior inter polar region suspicious for renal neoplasm. Have appt with urologist tomorrow. Would like to know what this report means and what I can expect from tomorrow s appt. Are there certain questionsI should ask?
The MRI report shows presence of a sub two centimeter mass lesion in the right kidney. The mass lesion is likely to be a neoplasm. Renal function tests need to be done to assess the functioning of kidneys. Surgical excision of the kidney mass is the treatment of choice.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
