Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My MRI report says the following: T11-12 central disc herniation with thecal sac indentation noted on sagittal imaging only. l4-5 disc bulge with thecal sac indentation and encroachment upon both descending L5 nerve roots. L5-S1 disc bulge with encroachment upon both descending S1 nerve roots and bilateral inferior foraminal encroachment. What does this all mean?
Thiracic11-12 inter vertebral disc has displaced. Lumbar 4-5 disc is prolapsed and putting pressure on nerves which are affected. Lumbar 12- Sacral 1 intervertebral disc prolapse is putting pressure on Sacral 1 nerve roots and both side foramen ( holes from where nerves are passing).
Every two vertebra has a cushion of disc between them. This is called Inter vertebral Disc. T11, S1, L 12 S1 etc are SR no of vertebra from up to down.
