Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My fathers MRI scan report says Small focal area of cystic encephalomalacia with gliosis in posterior temporal lobe cortex and subcortical region on left side . What does this mean? Is it very dangerous? He was involved in a bike accident 16 years ago which injured his head. He is 58 years old now and has been living without any problems until recently he started complaining about headaches on one side.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, the MRI report is suggestive of some cerebral lesion could be cystic lesion with nonspecific changes and this may not be danger but really need to correlate with clinical condition and further investigations may required, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
