What Does This MRI Report Of Hand Indicate?

Had an MRI done on left hand: What do they do for these findings? Joint discloses a small effusion and architectural distortion involving the joint capsule, particularlly the radial collateral ligament. A partial interstial tear, grad 2 is felt to be present.

Hello,

As to begin with, MRI is a diagnostic procedure and it helps in understanding the soft tissue injury and MRI is not a diagnosis in any way.

The MRI shows there is ligament sprain at the wrist due to which there are changes in the soft tissues leading to inflammation.

I will advise to do hot water fermentation, use crepe bandage to stabilize the wrist joint, do simple wrist and finger range of motion exercises to regain muscle property. Once pain is less than slow and low-intensity strengthening exercises will be good to regain hand functions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
