Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my right shoulder mri says my rotator cuff complex: there is hyperintensity within the supraspinatus tendon over several centimeters. this is mostly intratendinous hyperintensity consistent with tendinosis and interstitial tearing within the substance of the tendon. there does appear to be extension to the bursal surface along the distalmost fibers. there is mild fraying along the bursal surface of the distal supraspinatus tendon and a tiny focal tear measuring app. 2mm in size. The infraspinatus tendon also reveals hyperintensity consistent with tendinosis and mild interstitial tearing with fraying/partial tear of the bursal surface just distal to the lateral edge of the acromion over app. 4.4 mm. synovium/bursae: minimal joint fluid. fluid around the biceps tendon in the bicipital groove and small to moderate amount of fluid in the subdeltoid and subacromial bursa. the bursal fluid is similar to prior and may be secondary to the rotator cuff pathology or bursitis. impression: 1. abnormal right rotator cuff that appears to be due to tendinosis, interstitial tearing with small areas of extension to the bursal surface.. 2. small amount of fluid in the subacromial and subdeltoid bursa which may be secondary to the rotator cuff pathology or bursitis. 3. due to the extensive interstitial tearing with bursal surface fraying, this patient may benefit from MR arthrography to look for occult full-thickness tear. what does all this mean? my dr. appointment is not until next month.
