I had an MRI done. I would like to know what the finding mean. Narrative MRI LUMBAR SPINE WITHOUT CONTRAST HISTORY: Sciatica COMPARISON: None TECHNIQUE: Sagittal T1, T2, and STIR; axial T1 and T2 sequences through the lumbar spine were acquired without contrast. FINDINGS: Vertebral body height and alignment are anatomic. Background marrow signal is appropriate. The conus terminates at L1. The distal cord and cauda equina are unremarkable. Disc desiccation is present at all levels sparing L5-S1. Disc heights are well-maintained. L1-L2: No disc herniation. No spinal canal or neuroforaminal narrowing. L2-L3: No disc herniation. No spinal canal or neuroforaminal narrowing. L3-L4: No disc herniation. No spinal canal or neuroforaminal narrowing. L4-L5: A central disc extrusion is present measuring 20 x 5 mm craniocaudal by AP. Moderate bilateral facet arthropathy is also present. There is moderate right and severe left neuroforaminal narrowing without significant spinal canal narrowing. L5-S1: No disc herniation. No spinal canal or neuroforaminal narrowing.
