Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After my car accident, I was diagnosed with levoscoliosis of the lumbar spine. T12-L1 and L1-2 disc desiccation, L1-2 through L4-5 disc bulging, L3-4 bilateral facet arthrosis and left foraminal stenosis, L4-5 3mm disc herniation predominating in the left paracentral direction with annular fissure, L5-S1 2-3 mm broad left paracentral disc bulge with bilateral facet arthrosis and left foraminal stenosis shown by MRI. My cervical spine had exaggerated lordosis and at C4-5 through C6-7 I had disc bulging. I have not had any trauma before. Could my levoscoliosis been caused by my accident.
It would be helpful if you would have mentioned your age. Depending on the MRI report which was done after the car accident, it is likely resulted form the car accident. Did your back or spine got injured in the car accident along with any fractured bones?
The changes can also be a result of aging process or due to some other preexisting condition that got flared up. I would suggest you visit a spinal surgeon regarding this if this is causing trouble in your daily life. After careful examination the doctor will suggest you appropriate management for it.It can be surgical or medical management depending on your overall condition.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
