What Does This MRI Test Result For Brain Indicate?
What does this mean from my MRI: There is mild to moderate, diffuse, supra and infratentorial, overall uniform atrophy with minimal periventricular small vessels ischemic changes. In addition there is presence of symmetrical, T2 hyperintensity signal and diffusion signal change involving the bilateral cerebellar peduncles as well as splenium of the corpus callosum. The finding is nonspecific and can be encountered in multisystem atrophy, spinocerebellar ataxia, myelinokysis, Methotrexate toxicity and other toxic/metabolic disorder including Wilson s disease. Please correlate with patient s symptoms and consider follow-up.
MRI report as you mentioned shows a possibility of Alzheimer's disease multi system atrophy or multi infract dementia etc. If you're a patient suffering from dementia then please consult with your physician / neuro-physician immediately he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
