What Does This MRI Test Result For Left Knee Indicate?
had 40cc fluid aspirated 2 weeks ago left knee. fluid returned in a week. Had MRI: superior flap tear of the lateral meniscal anterior horn/body oblique tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus and inferior flap tear of the body large joint effusion mild arthrosis medial tibial plateau stress reaction. What treatment options are there?
Tear of multiple meniscus with joint effusion returning back after aspiration indicates extensive tissue damage of joint and surrounding structures which can be traumatic, inflammatory or else. Though the surgical correction of tear with reconstruction is best possible therapy, I would like to address further with details of x-ray, MRI plates and aspiration fluid report if done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
