What Does This Urine Cytology Test Showing No Malignant Cells Indicate?
Microscopic : Cytospin smears are moderately cellula and show presence of squamous cells, urothelial cells and few inflammatory cells. No viabel malignant cells are seen in smears examined.
Impression : Negative for malignant cells.
Advised : Rule out contamination

Hello and welcome to HCM, The urine cytology reports shows presence of cells called squamous cells, urothelial cells and inflammatory cells. These cells are normal cells present in the urinary tract. No malignant cell is identified. Malignant cell refers to cancer cell. Thus, this urine sample is not showing presence of any cancer cell. In case there is suspicion of any growth in the urinary tract, your doctor may like to repeat the investigation.
