Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was in the ER of the hospital with chest pain that went to my jaw. the doctor suspected heart attack. My chest xray showed atelectasis of the left lung and osseus structures. I was not told of any of these . The cardiac cath showed all clear vessels. What is wrong with my lung? i
Atelectasis is collapse of small lung segments in basal region. It is generally due to retained secretions, chronic infection etc. It may reverse with treatment of underlying cause. You may need antibiotics. Physiotherapy is also helpful in such cases. It is good that cardiac angiography shows normal coronary vessels.
